Meet Bleary Mary, this years pet lamb and guest of honour at our lambing Service when we give thanks for the safe arrival of this spring’s lambs, the basis of our economy here in Gilsland

Bleary Mary’s mother just couldn’t cope with feeding all three of her lambs so, being a good shepherd, Christine took on the role of feeding and caring for this little lamb.

Mary is introduced to the congregation from the United Benefice - note the towel - just in case!

Kaitlin sang The lord is my Shepherd - a real treat for us all.

Time to chat before we all head off to Gilsland  Spa for lunch
