First opened as a Public Hall and Reading Room in 1894
The hall has been regularly modernised over the years

Gilsland Village Hall
2011 saw extensive refurbishment. New windows, and installing a modern heating system, with solar panels providing the electricty for an air source heat pump.
For the first time in over a century it will be warm winter and summer.
